Cuentos de Cuentas
Conversation with Carla Zaccagnini and Rivka Galchen
Géza, 306 Maujer
On the eve of the public opening of Carla Zaccagnini’s Cuentos de cuentas/ Accounts of Accounting, we fold exhibition preview and book launch into one, highlighting how our work with Carla grew out of episodic online stories that came together into a new publication (co-published with K. Verlag) that also shaped the eponymous solo exhibition.
What is the allure of looking back at the past? How to give voice to archival documents in narratives that live in the overlap of fiction and non-fiction? And what about doubt and unreliable perspectives? What is a fact, and for whom? Referencing their own practice and context, as well as the works on view at Amant, Carla Zaccagnini and New York-based writer Rivka Galchen discuss these questions. The conversation will be moderated by Sarah Demeuse.
For the occasion, our exhibition galleries will be open 5-8pm. Visitors are encouraged to first visit the show, and take some time with The Selfish Giant on view at 315 Maujer. The talk will be followed by a reception.
Cuentos de Cuentas will be available at the Amant Bookstore.
