Rakhi Peswani
Rakhi Peswani is an artist and a pedagogue with over two decades of art and teaching experience in various public and private institutions of higher education in India. Over the last two decades, she has significantly worked with painting, sculpture and installations, using hand embroidery and textiles, as dominant media forms. Working with relational aesthetics, she navigates between intimate and social aspects of viewing, integrating the material, the haptic and the visceral.
Her work has been widely shown in institutional and curated exhibitions significantly, Mardin Biennale (Turkey, 2022), Curitiba Biennale (Brazil, 2019), Colombo Biennale ( Sri Lanka, 2014), and Hangzhou Triennale (PRC, 2013). She has shown her works in solo exhibitions in Mumbai (2006, 2007, 2013, 2018), Delhi ( 2009, 2015), Hong Kong (2011), Hamburg (2019, 2021) and Bangalore (2021).
